Eurovan concerns / 2002 Eurovan poptop latch

Hi,

I have a 2002 Eurovan and the poptop latch seems to have broken.  I have found a new one on EBay since VW no longer makes it.  According to thesamba.com it is a latch for the hood of a Jetta, which I have purchased. 

Has anyone installed this?
