Bus Blog / Travelling Northern Ontario Summer 2018, Enthusiast Help Needed!
« on: August 03, 2018, 10:00:35 AM »
Hi, I'm new to the forum but was directed here by my mechanic. I am travelling up to Pickle Lake Ontario next week from Toronto over 10 days. I have a 1974 Westfalia, I am just trying to be prepared in case anything goes wrong and bank some contacts if I am totally stranded. Any enthusiasts up there?
Last year I nearly got stranded in Newfoundland with my bus on a similar road trip. Alternator gave out in New Brunswick, swapped batteries every 2 hours for a week of driving. Car stopped idling, it was a nightmare.
If anyone is off Highway 11 (Temagami, Hearst, Long Lac), near Thunder Bay, or north of Thunder Bay (Sioux Lookout, Kenora District, up highway 599 to Pickle Lake and so on) let me know!
Matt
