This is our 73 poptop we are also restoring.
Has been fitted with rebuilt 1700 out to 1800cc New floor tiles Few parking scrapes to fix before repaint and windsceen rubber to be replaced Rebuilding cupboards & bed etc Gulliver and GioVANni together 5

It has a rebuilt 1600 and runs very well- one clicky CV .
Has new brakes and hoses and we are now doing interior-only seat/bed will be installed and some interior trim panels-it will be a work in progress. He does not get licence until May. New paint Headlight mesh Kombi Konnection sticker 6

This is 70 poptop we are doing a refurb for our grandson When he and parents purchased it. Rubber moulds removed In paint/panel shop Primer 7

I would definitely go for second battery- VW already provided area for it.
It can be isolated from starting battery and should be a deep cycle. You can run all your "add ons" through it and it can be installed to charge through an inverter when you are hooked up to mains power in parks etc. ---------------------------------- 10

Hi,
I am from Western Australia and have been involved with VWs and Kombis for many years. First VW Bus or Kombi drive as we call them was when my sponsor loaned me one to move house back in 1964. We started back into them properly about 2000 and have restored a couple for ourselves and quite a few for others. At the moment organising resto on 1970 Poptop camper for our grandson and trying to find time to do our 73 Poptop camper. Being retired helps but still have to fit in with other things 11

We have just had out first Kombi Konnection Camp and show in Western Australia. It was quite successful with good show of Bays and Splitties. Will post a link with photos later. -----------------
