Vanagon Engine Tap?
«

I have an 85’ Westy with a loud tap. I took a compression test and my #4 cylinder has zero compression. There’s also an exhaust leak on the driver side of the engine. I’m assuming I have a stuck exhaust valve. Someone told me I could just replace that head and be done with it. I’m thinking I need a rebuild. I’m kind of learning as I go here. Does anyone have some input here?

Should one replace one head without the other? I have a youtube link with the noise.

As to replacing only one had, I'd say that would depend on how many miles are on the engine, or since the last times the heads were done.
I'd lean to doing both at the same times. My $.02
