Need shop in VT

Anyone got any leads on good places to get a Vanagon or bus fixed in Vermont?

I know this is pretty vague - but a friend of a friend needs to get a "westfalia" fixed.  He was his daughter's who moved away.  The van didn't start, went to a repair shop. they said it needed  fuel pump, but a new one in and still no go.

I don't know any more than that and knowing, somewhat, this guy, I don;t know if I ever will.  He want's my friend to tow-dolly the van home.  My friend rather see it get fixed so it can be driven so he doesn;t have to be involved.

Also - don't know where in Vermone it is, except near Burlington.

Any and all leads appreciated.  Someone is offereing 2k unseen as -is for the van - supposedly they wanted 3.5K, no idea if these prices make any sense.

Suggest John's Car Corner in Westminister, VT. Just off I-91 north of Brattleboro. Not sure he's still in business. Check first.

They checked and John's is still in business.  It's for sale, if someone buys, they retire.

Wish I could help, but Burlington is still 80 miles and 2,548 frost heaves from my place of habitation. I've only dealt with my air cooleds, but maybe all it needs is a fuse or new distributor cap... or this time of year a little jug of "dry gas" does wonders...    Dan :cry:

John's is the place, not just in Vermont.  He has decades worth of knowledge and VW stuff there.  802-722-3180.  I've bought several cars and loads of parts from him.  

If you can make the trek across the river into New Hampshire, you can also go see Gordi Davis.  He's in Keene, NH. 603-313-5333.  Again, he has decades of VW knowledge and Parts.  I've also bought cars and parts from him.

Hard to say which I like better, they are both good sources and good guys. I've known them both for 20+ years.    

When I couldn't get a certain part from my VW sources, they are the ones I call.

John's Car Corner is in southern Vermont. That might a little far from the Burlington area.

I can recommend a good VW mechanic named Craig Reeves. He's in the Burlington area (Colchester). His shop number is 802-951-5977.

Craig is a LiMBO member from way back (early 90's) and he used to have a mobile-VW repair business that he operated from various bay window buses. Several years ago he got his own shop. I last spoke to him less than 2 years ago, as I recall.

John's Car Corner took care of some wiring problems and for $77.00 it is on the road and my friend is pleased!

 I hope he has the fuel pump they took out at the 1st shop, since it it was likely good (wiring to fuel pump had a fault).

AAA did another tow for him to John's, so not only is the car fixed, it's 100 miles closer to home.
