pop top conversion

In a month or two I'm going to put a 85 westy pop-top onto an 89 vanagon. Anyone out there attempted such a thing? I'm looking for any advice I can get along the way. <br>Thanks ahead for your input.

My friend Jim Phillips did one a few years ago with an '80/'82. It turned out real well. They cut off at the pillars a few inches below the rain gutter. He's up here in the Boston area and goes to lots of local New England VW shows. The camper is light yellow over yellow with a white pop-top.
