Van Gas Tank Reseal Kit - Need mechanic to install

1990 Vanagon GL<br><br>I've read the various notes in the forum on Vanagon gas tank leaks, and the kit you buy to fix it.  I plan to purchase the kit in the next day or so.<br><br>While this kit *may* have all the parts needed, I would like to have someone who knows Vanagons work on the Van in case there are additional parts needed.  <br><br>So, I am looking for recommendations for a good VW mechanic to install it.  I live in the Nashua, NH area, but am willing to travel 50 - 75+ miles to have an experienced mechanic do the job.  <br><br>Any recommendations, including phone numbers?<br><br>thanks<br>

so did you get it installed? mines got a little leak on fill ups under the drivers side door from the line and i havent decided if im gonna do it myself yet any DIYers that have done this job w/ advice? :shock:

I've dropped vanagon tanks a few times now.
I did a write up that I can share. Send me a private message with your e-mail and I will forward.

Last time I had the rear of van up for coolant lines. Definitely the way to go is raise rear, not front

i ended up doing mine myself, it wasnt really that hard, found i did need some extra line and  both left & right grommets for the vent tanks along with extra line to those tanks, while at it i replaced the line from the tank to the pump and the pump back to firewall...pretty easy job...write up on bensplace.com & samba how to do it
