bleeding slave cylinder

???HI, just installed a master clutch cylinder in my '85 Westy - read all the useful hints, tips etc and they were extremely helpful - many thanks to all who contributed - however! topped up the reservoir and attached a plastic hose to the bleed valve on the slave cylinder opened up the valve and started to pump - initially got no pressure on the pedal then gradually got the pressure - got no brake fluid coming out of the slave and finally took the valve off completely - still got pressure on the pedal , but nothing coming from the slave cylinder- brake fluid level dropped in the reservoir to the point where you would normally have to fill up - clutch works fine in the driveway, gears shift OK - what's going on - would appreciate anyone who might have experienced a similar thing getting back to me,  Thanks Ron

HELLO  :) IF YOU ARE GOING TO SELF BLEED THE SYSTEM YOU WILL NEED A MIGHTY VAC HAND PUMP . OR IF YOU CAN GET HELP FOR A FEW MIN. ( CON A FREIND OVER OR A FEW COLD ONES ;) ) HAVE THEM HELP . PUMP , CRACK VALVE ,PUMP CRACK VALVE, ECT.ECT.ECT.<br>OR YOU CAN ALSO GRAVITY BLEED THE SYSTEM . FILL RES. AND CRACK LINE OPEN AND JUST LET IT FLOW ON IT'S OWN ( LONG TIME ) DO A TUNE UP WHILE YOU WAIT , JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP A EYE OPEN  ::)ON THE LEVEL .  :)
