Connecticut Street Legends - Alex's Lemonade Stand Car Show

The Connecticut Street Legends Car Club in conjunction with Price Chopper Food Stores and Buffalo Wild Wings presented a car show in downtown Windsor, CT on the green in front of the town hall this past Sunday. The show was open to a wide range of cars from early antiques such as Model T's, show cars from the 30's and 40's, street rods, dream cars of the 50's and muscle cars from the 60's and early 70's.
Connecticut Street Legends, established in 2005, is a non profit club in collaboration with other Connecticut car clubs. The members collect a varied blend of street rods, car and truck classics and antique vehicles. Their main objective is to attract a group of people who share a common interest in vintage and classic vehicles while supporting the community by way of assorted donations and numerous fund raisers. Donations from this show will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer research.
The Red Baron and his '87 Westy attended this show with some 100 other vehicles. I think we were a little out- classed being not only the only Volkswagen model entered but at the bottom end of the Horsepower totem. Only the 42hp, 1.2L Austin engine in a classic 50's Nash Metropolitian beat me out from being at the bottom. The Westy did however draw a lot of attention and many that stopped by had never heard of such a mini RV.
Around 3PM a cold front started to move thru the area with storm clouds that looked very threatening, so I decided to close down the top and was preparing to leave before the rain started when the Webmaster from the CSL stopped by and wanted to take a picture that would be posted in the Gallery on their Website. That made my day and here's the picture he took.
You can see this picture along with a wonderfull slide show of most of the vehicles that participated on the CSL Website. On their main page click-on Photo Gallery, then 2009 Shows and then Alex's Lemonade Stand. Enjoy the Show.
