Rust Proofing
« on: November 18, 2015, 12:57:13 PM »
Hello:

new to site.

Surprised by limited number of technical contributions.

Looking for non generic ideas on rust proofing my 1969 Type II (now in storage).  I'd like to be 'responsible' and leave the thing in good shape when (one day) it goes to another owner.  Want to ponder -over winter- approach to aggressive (even high dollar) permanent rust proofing of driver/passenger/side/engine/rear hatch doors.

if anyone has experience with this I'll send out details.

Thanks.

Check out SWRNC my friend Pete's YouTube site. He has a video on stopping rust with 1:3 vinegar and water. It really works. This will buy you some time to get the roof painted before it gets too far out of hand.

Hey guys. Found this checklist when buying a VW Beetle. It covers all rust issues, has many touch points with the VW Bus so might be interesting.
