Who's going to Westies in the Woods in New Jersey?
« on: April 11, 2007, 09:34:05 PM »
Just wondering who was planning on attending Westies in the Woods this year Memorial Day weekend?

Barb and I plan on attending, but we probably won't get in until Saturday morning.   We'll have the kids, cat and Big Duck.  Lets here from ya.

Sue and I haven't been there in a number of years and now that she's pretty well recovered from her operation, we'll be there.

I gave Tim a call. Seems like everything is set to go for May 25 - 28. Here is the page I am working on to the event.

We need to be careful.  Tim tells me that the park is limiting his party to 60 people.   He has two group sites. (30 per group site) That may fill up fast.  We'll see how things go down.

I won't make it down until Saturday morning.  I know I'll be pissed at the park if they turn me away after driving 4 hours to get there.

FYI you don't need to check in at the park station. If you get lost call someone who is at the site.

Well the day is almost here :D Can't wait. Looks like scattered t-storms on Friday, then sunny the rest of the weekend.

Yep, weekend looking nice.  Warm too.  That will be nice.  Hopefully I won't be put in the poor house buying gas for the old Duck.  My family won't travel without it.  I spoiled them now, so I can't get them to camp out in the Eurovan anymore.  So when you see a old brown class C motor home with a VW emblem stuck on the grill, that'll be me.  I'll be in early Saturday morning.

PS: Don't forget to bring some wood.  They'll need it for the turkeys.

From the website: "Enter Stokes State Forest on Coursen Road (the main entrance.) You will pass the park office (no need to stop there). Continue straight down the road until you come to a “T.” (It will be just about when you think you'll never get there.)

Go left at the “T” and proceed past the playground/softball field/picnic grounds.

Bear left at the next fork. Pass the red barn. Group campsites will be at the right hand turn past the barn. Groupsite G is the site at the end.

Happy motoring!

Lost Bus drivers may call 1-973-476-1248 for help navigating."
