John Reynolds (Vanagonjr) posted a question about putting a syncro trans in his 2WD vanagon.  Now it looks like its been deleted.  What happened???

Syncro into 2WD
« Reply #1 on: April 15, 2008, 06:23:41 AM »
OK, well let's re-post it.

I' looking for info on Syncro trans into 2WD (87) Vanagon.  A year a so ago I made a similar post and got some replies, but I'm looking for the specifics.

I read that I should change the nose cone and use the 2WD front tranny mount.  I'd rather not change the nose cone.  I should have the Synrco mounting bracket.  Can one use the Syncro mount in the 2WD van?  I know the body is higher relative to the engine in the Syncro to accommodate the gas tank over the trans.  So I wondering is a spacer is needed on the trans mount?

Any input here appreciated

John
